April Update!

Hey everyone! I am so excited that Spring is here and the weather is starting to get better. March was a fun month filled with exciting things so let's see what happened!

As you can see, this is more pizza than I could consume by myself, so I decided to share it with a few hundred of my closest friends at TWU! We did an outreach event where we bought pizza to just give away, no strings attached. This was a great way for us to meet students on the TWU campus! It was a great way to serve those students while getting to meet them at the same time. One of my favorite events all year!

This is a picture of our students at our weekly fellowship meeting that is on Friday evenings. We recently switched to a different room, and all of the students have loved it so far! It is quite a bit smaller so it makes for a more intimate worship setting. Friday Night Fellowship has been one of my favorite things we do all year. I get to see a lot of students I don't normally see throughout the week, so I really cherish that time. I also love being in a big group worshipping our God that we love!

This past month we started a new thing with our Story Time outreach! We purchased a bunch of books such as The Screwtape Letters and The Great Divorce, and we gave them away to students at UNT for free! We also had each of our staff members set a book club time for each book that we were giving away. I got to do one of my favorite books, The Screwtape Letters. This has been a really cool and unique outreach event and we have gotten a lot of positive feedback about it! It has facilitated a lot of neat conversations with students. College students love free things!

We got to have some vacation time over spring break, and I got take a short trip with one of my best friends. Nathaniel (pictured above) is one of the greatest inspirations in my life. We have known each other since 7th grade, and have been the best of friends ever since. Nathaniel has had some obstacles in his life that were out of his control, but he doesn't let that stop him. He has always been such a good example to me of what being a good person is. I was so glad that we got to spend some time together and go see our favorite hockey team (the Dallas Stars) play on the road in Minnesota!

I took this photo during our staff huddle time that we do each week before our fellowship time. I wanted to share how much this staff has meant to me this year. I have learned a lot about myself this year and feel like I have grown so much since this journey started in August. I was reflecting on that this past month and realized the two biggest reasons I have grown so much are God and my team. God does amazing things and I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Him. My team has been there for me every step of the way and been nothing but supportive of me in every way imaginable. I love them so much and it's already sad to think that I won't be working with them forever.

I want to thank all of y'all for reading my blog and supporting me this year financially and prayerfully! I couldn't do it without y'all!

In Christ,

Ryan Reynolds

  1. Hey Ryan! I love hearing about all the creative outreach activities you guys do in Denton. I'm sure lots of students were blessed by all that free pizza! And I hope it led to some meaningful conversations with the students who stopped by to grab a bite. Keep it up!
