December Update!

Hey everyone! Christmas season is upon us and I could not be more excited! The start of December also marks me being 40% done with apprenticeship! I really can't believe how fast it has gone by and how much God has done in this time so far. Let's jump in to see what happened this last month!

Earlier this month we had our Fall Pizza Theology event. Pizza Theology is an event that we do with all 11 of our campuses once per semester. It was so encouraging to see how many of our students that were willing to take five hours out of their Sunday! We heard from Bill Watson on the story of scripture and it was super insightful and informative. It's one of my favorite events because we get to see all of our campuses fellowship together! I was super glad to see all of my UTD friends that I don't get to see that often anymore.

In the picture above, our students and staff are doing Questions on Display for outreach! Basically we put a question on a big board and have students that are passing by respond to it. We did this a lot this past month and it created a lot of conversations! It's a great way for our students to be involved and on the front line of evangelism. It's an awesome opportunity for us to invited students to events that we are having. There are so many students on this campus (and all campuses for that matter) that are just so lonely. I'm so glad that we are able to do outreach on these campuses so that we can let them know that they are never alone, and that there is a God who loves them!

Going along with outreach, we did a couple of new things this semester! We had two seminars that were on the topics of "Science and Faith" and "Fear, Anxiety, and Depression". These were so encouraging! We brought in outside speakers that were experienced in these various topics and that could give some insight into these topics. We got a lot of positive feedback and were able to meet a lot of new students through these!

Here's a picture of all of our male staff working very very hard (haha)! I've loved getting to know these guys better. They support me in not only becoming a better minister, but a better person as well. I can really be myself around them and they are definitely not afraid to call me out when I'm in the wrong. They've been such a joy to work with and have become some of my best friends!

Just a little personal news to end, I got a dog! Well, Kristin and I got a dog and he is living at her house until we get married. His name is Benji and he loves to play ball (as you can see) and is a very good boy. He has brought so much joy to our lives already!

Thank you again so much to all of you who support me financially as well as prayerfully, y'all are the best!

In Christ,

Ryan Reynolds

  1. Hey Ryan! I love to see the different events that you guys put on to draw people into the FOCUS community at UNT. Those seminars sound really interesting!

Also I like that pic of the three of you on your phones. Sometimes texting people to ask questions and schedule things feels like a huge part of my job. I'm sure it's the same for you guys!

Keep up the good work with those Denton students (and with that cute pup)!
