October Update!

Hello everyone!

Another month is in the books and the time has just flown by! I've been so encouraged in my time so far and I'm excited to share about it with all of you! Here we go!

Pictured above is one of my favorite outreach events that we do! We built this structure and play a game called 9-square. It attracts a lot of students and is a great way for us to talk to students! We spend several hours a week doing facilitated outreach at various times doing various things, and it is so encouraging! I love getting to watch our students have fun while doing the Lord's work. It reminds me why I love my job so much!

This is our staff plus a couple of significant others! We took some time this past month to have some fun together (on top of all of the fun we have doing ministry). I love all of these people so so so much. I consider them family and I'm so blessed that I get to work with them each and every day! They challenge and encourage me in various ways that help me grow!

These are some of the students that I get to interact with on a daily basis! Garvin (left) is one of the guys I get to meet with each week and mentor this school year, Ryan (middle) is a transfer student that is at basically every event we have and always a positive person to be around, and Devin (right) is one of my roommates! Guys like these remind me why I decided to do ministry this year. These students among others have helped me learn a lot so far this school year and challenged me to think in ways that I'm not used to.

We did a new thing this month for outreach that we had never done before! We hosted a seminar titled "How to Get Better Grades and Have More Fun in College" that was geared towards how to practically navigate college and balancing schoolwork with other things that most college students deal with. We got to talk about good study habits, why you should go to class, and other things of that nature. I was really encouraged by this because I saw a lot of new faces that I hadn't seen before! Our students did such a great job with inviting their friends and classmates. I would say it was a success!

Here's a photo of the great Dirk Nowitzki from the Dallas Mavericks at Friday Night Fellowship a couple of weeks ago! Okay.. you caught me. It's just my fellow staff member Kristen. She was told she was going to be dressing up as Dirk about three minutes before this photo was taken, then had to do announcements with me in character! It was a lot of fun because I asked her several questions that the real Dirk would know, but she had no clue. As you can see from the photo, it was a lot of fun and our students loved it!

I want to thank all of you for your prayers and support for me during this time in my life! It's such a great feeling knowing I have friends and family who are there to support me!
We have our annual Fall Camp this weekend and I'm so excited to see how God will speak to us during that! So please be praying that are students will get to know each other better as well as become closer to God. I can't wait to share about it next month!

Thanks for reading! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about anything :)

In Christ,

Ryan Reynolds
