September Update!

I can't believe that a month has already gone by! My transition to Denton has been seamless and I feel like I'm fitting in great. So many great things happened this month so I'm going to dive right in and hit the highlights!

Move-In Day

Above is a picture of me and some student leaders from UNT move in day! We got to volunteer as a student organization to help students move in to their dorms. It made me so happy to see the reactions of students and their families when they saw that we were there to help them. I was also so proud of our students who gave up their weekend to come serve these students. It was a great way to invite people to all of the stuff that we were doing during Welcome Week!

Outreach

As you can see above, we like to have fun! Every week on Tuesday and Friday, we do outreach during the day to meet new students. We've used that big beach ball and it has made me feel like a little kid again! I feel that God truly works through us during this time. So many students here at UNT, TWU, and NCTC just want friends. We met a student at NCTC (North Central Texas College) who told us that we were the first friends we had. That interaction truly reminded me why we do what we do.

Friday Night Fellowship

We've had our first two Friday Night Fellowships and they have been great! At our first FNF, we had about 100 students show interest in joining our small groups! It's so encouraging to see so many students to come on Friday nights to worship our great God!

Welcome Week

Welcome Week consists of dozens of events that are put on by the school and by FOCUS. All of these events give us a lot of opportunities to meet new students. We were at events most of the day, but I was so thankful for all of the conversations that I got to have. I've loved seeing the students I met at Welcome Week at other events that we've put on! We put in some long hours that week, so it has been great to see God lead those students to our ministry.

Engagement!

Last but certainly not least, I got engaged! I flew up to Nashville to surprise Kristin while she was visiting her family and popped the question! We are so so so excited! It was definitely one of the most exciting days of my life thus far. Let the wedding planning begin!

Thank you all so much for your prayers for me and the other Denton staff, we really appreciate it! And a big thank you to those of you are supporting me financially, I could not do this without y'all!

In Christ,

Ryan Reynolds
